Clontarf Football Club was then reformed in August 1980 as an opportunity to give youth a place to play soccer. We have grown over the last 29 years to become one of the most respected and competitive clubs in Schoolboy and Junior football in North Dublin, we are now running over 30 teams .
We have won Trophys and Cups at all levels. Our players have had the opportunity to play throughout Ireland, Europe and the United States
We teach the game of soccer the way it was meant to be played, through training, sportsmanship and character building. We breed confidence and confidence breeds success. Any player who is serious about the beautiful game and would like to make a bit of History of his own, belongs at Clontarf Football Club.
Clontarf Football Club , on the record books was founded in 1917 but it is unclear as to who the founding members were , they are thought to have been locals and members of the British Army serving on the Bull Wall.
The Club played on the sea front pitch in what was then the grounds of Arthur Edward Guinness, Baron Ardilaun (1 November 1840 – 20 January 1915) he was an Irish businessman, politician, and philanthropist.
It was said , that his family made a present of a pitch to the members of the New Clontarf Football Club but this gift has never been confirmed and we can find no record of this deal .
Clontarf FC then went missing until the summer of 1957 when they reached a Dublin District Final but once again the Club disappeared for another 23 years.
